Adoption has many layers and can feel overwhelming at times. That’s why having the best resources to help you navigate the adoption process is crucial. In this blog post, we will explore 4 of the most helpful adoption resources to help hopeful adoptive families adopt the child of their dreams.
- Creating a Family
Creating a Family is by far my favorite adoption resource. They have a wealth of information including a podcast, articles, blog posts, online trainings, and so much more. They even have adoption and post-adoption support groups. This is my favorite resource because it’s the most versatile. I refer families to Creating a Family because of the breadth of education that’s available. They speak to everything including infertility, foster care, and domestic and international adoption. I encourage you to check out this fantastic resource. - National Council for Adoption
National Council For Adoption has a lot of great FREE resources for families. They even have several resources for adoption professionals. They are a great resource for anyone who wants to learn about adoption in general. You can visit their website to learn more. - Adoptive Families
Adoptive Families began as a magazine, and now it exists as a vast online resource. They’ve been around for a very long time, so you’ll be able to find a ton of information about the different types of adoptions. - Child Welfare Information Gateway
Child Welfare Information Gateway has a wide variety of information. Even though it’s mostly geared towards foster care adoptions, they still have a wealth of information applicable to any kind of adoption. In fact, they have the widest network of information out there. They are a great resource for learning about adoption in different states, including the different state laws.
Adoption is complex, but it doesn’t have to feel impossible. I hope these four resources can be helpful to you on your adoption journey. To learn more, watch my latest YouTube video.
