Why can’t my FBI check results be shared with other adoption entities?

When another adoption agency asks you to share your criminal history results obtained by your home study agency (the authorized agency), they are superseding the law.  This is called unauthorized dissemination. The other agency has no authority to receive these results as this was not the intended purpose.  The other agency should obtain authority to receive the FBI check results themselves or ask the family to complete the FBI check again for their agency.  Agencies may face serious consequences including suspension of services and/or civil or criminal penalties as FBI criminal history is very restrictive.
