It’s almost time for Easter celebrations! It feels like Christmas just happened and we were celebrating the start of a new year, but Easter is right around the corner coinciding with the first day of April this year. As a holiday, it’s a great one to spend with family as it lends itself to good time around the dinner table, out at church with other friends and family, or running through yards and fields for a fun easter egg hunt.

However your family chooses to celebrate, be sure to enjoy each other and a day of rest and rejoicing. If you don’t have time to dye and hide eggs at home or just want to be out with other families this year, we have some great Easter options for you. Check them out and get those cameras ready for some great family photos!

Kansas City

If you live in the Kansas City area and haven’t read KC Parent yet, you’re missing out. It’s always full of some great suggestions and we’ve highlighted a few you should consider this year (Hint: sign up for their newsletter!). The Easter Bunny is visiting the Crown Center leading up to Easter festivities so you can get a cute family portrait with the big furry bunny for the fridge. There’s also a Community Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24th at Crosspoints Church for those wanting to do the hunt before Easter weekend.

If none of those events work for you, there are 12 more on March 24th alone. Just check out this complete list for egg hunts and outdoor festivities happening at various churches and parks across the city. And don’t forget the big city-wide Easter egg hunt, too! That kicks off at 10am on Saturday.

Wichita

For those in the Wichita, Kansas area you have lots of Easter options, too. From egg hunts on Saturday, March 24th to a fun run, egg hunt in the zoo and at the Immanuel Baptist church on the 31st, there is no shortage of fun excursions for the whole family. You can get more details for all of these events at this handy site.

Lenexa

Lots of fun events abound in Lenexa this year, too. There’s an Easter egg hunt at Ravenwood Elementary on Saturday, March 24th along with a big celebration at the public market.

If you’re in in the greater Kansas City and Wichita areas, then check with your local elementary schools, parks and churches – they are sure to have fun events this weekend and next and it’s a great way to meet families and enjoy some fun family time together outside.
