We recently asked the Kelly Family “What has life been like as a family after completing adoption?” They responded with their story about how their son made them parents and taught them what it means to love unconditionally.
Meeting Our Son
We met our son Kieran in 2014 when he was an hour old. Six weeks prior while on vacation we’d been told a birth mother had chosen us to adopt her son. Int he whirlwind that followed we prepared to become parents but nothing could prepare us for the moment we met Kieran. When the nurses brought him to meet us our hearts melted and with tears of joy in our eyes in that instant we knew our lives were forever enriched. We were parents to a beautiful baby boy.
We Feel Like the Luckiest People On Earth
Kieran is now in kindergarten and is the very proud big brother to Finnegan who is nearly two years his junior. The past nearly five and a half years have gone by in the blink of an eye. From the sleepless nights every new parent experience to watching him learn to crawl, talk, walk, swim, play tee-ball, read, and write, we feel like the luckiest people on Earth. Our baby boy is now the sweetest little man and best big brother I can only hope someday he experiences the joy we’ve experienced since he entered our lives. Kieran made us parents and taught us what it means to love unconditionally.
We’ll Forever Remember the Moment We Met Him
Our family may not have been formed traditionally, but we wouldn’t change a thing. We feel so blessed to have been chosen to be Kieran’s parents. We’ll forever remember the moment we met him, our firstborn son.
