This year’s theme is “Engage Youth: Listen and Learn” and focuses on the need for families and permanent connections for teens.
Thousands of teenagers across the country are at risk of aging out of the foster care system without permanent families or a sense of belonging. Studies show a lifelong connection to a caring adult is critical at every age.
National Adoption Month is an annual campaign sponsored by the Children’s Bureau of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in partnership with Child Welfare Information Gateway and AdoptUSKids.
During National Adoption Month, it is our chance to recognize birth families who make the difficult decision to place their child for adoption, we thank foster parents for opening their homes, and we celebrate with adoptive families who are able to grow their families through adoption.
