Prospective Birth Parent Services by Adoption & Beyond

Adoption & Beyond is here to support expecting parents as they consider adoption.

At Adoption & Beyond, each of us have had our hearts touched by adoption.  We understand that exploring this choice is a brave step to take.  Our goal is to know you and your story and to learn how we can best help you make a well-informed decision based on information

We recommend that you first discuss your feelings with people who will be supportive: your partner, close friends, or family members.  If you don’t yet feel comfortable sharing with others, or don’t have trusted support, we are here to listen and offer free guidance and encouragement as you explore your options.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US

COMPASSION

We are here to listen, empower, encourage and guide as you decide what is best for you and your child’s future. We strongly believe in your right to make a loving decision and respect whichever choice you make.

GUIDANCE

Your adoption coordinator is here every step of the way to help you create a personalized plan and to prepare you for the decisions and emotions that lie ahead. With proper education and guidance, adoption can be a very reassuring decisions for you, although not an easy one. That’s why we also provide a support network of women who have been through the adoption process to share your thoughts and feelings with.

PRIVACY

Beyond those who need to know, you have the right to decide who knows about your adoption plan. You can speak freely to your adoption coordinator with the confidence that they will honor your right to privacy.

Here is a Brief Overview of the Adoption Process

STEP1.PAPER WORK

  • Social History Form(s)
  • Medical History Form(s)
  • Declaration Regarding Birth Father
  • Medical Insurance Information
  • Medical Release Form
  • Statement of Understanding and Agreement
  • Financial Worksheet
  • Medicaid Assistance Paperwork

Step2.CHOOSE AN ADOPTIVE FAMILY

Based on what you want in an adoptive family, we will provide you with photo profiles of families and you will be able to choose a family from these profiles. You will also have the opportunity to have a match meeting with the family and meet them face to face in order to get to know them better.

STEP3.MEET YOUR ADOPTION ATTORNEY

An adoption attorney will be provided to you, at no cost, in order to explain the legal aspects and paperwork for the adoption process.

Step4.MAKE A HOSPITAL PLAN

Once you choose and meet the prospective adoptive family, you will then create a hospital plan with your adoption coordinator. This will be provided to the hospital where you plan to deliver so they are prepared for your arrival.

Step5.DELIVERY AND PLACING WITH ADOPTIVE FAMILY

The adoptive family can be at the hospital during delivery or they can come later. While in the hospital you can spend as much or as little time as you want with the baby before and after signing the adoption paperwork. It is your decision

Step6.LIFE AFTER PLACEMENT

Looking to the future, we are here to help you transition from pregnancy to the next phase of your life. We will be available to provide guidance and support for as long as you feel you may need it.

TESTIMONIALS

A&B is amazing for both adopting and birth parents. Steffany was very helpful for me and my family.

 – Claudia (birth mother)

I’m grateful to the agency for giving us such a positive experience. I know some women aren’t as lucky and if I am able to help even one, I’ll gladly do it.

– Tina & Jon (birth parents)

I just want to say thank you for everything you’ve done and for all your help this past weekend. I appreciate Ms. Steffany.

– S.T. (birth mother)

Thank you…for the support you have given me during the adoption process.

– Rebecca (birth mother)

Just wanted to say thank you for being so great and wonderful through the adoption. You have done so much for me and been so amazing and supportive during a happy and bittersweet occasion. You went above and beyond for me, getting my prescriptions, taking me home from the Hospital. You have always been there for me and truly made a difference. The adoption was not easy for me, was by far the most difficult decision I have ever faced, but I am at peace by knowing she is in great and loving hands. I will always be grateful and thankful to you and everyone who was involved with the adoption.
