I don’t know about you, but these last few years have flown by for me. It reminds me how precious time is and patience can be challenging. Especially if you are looking to adopt. I get it, you are brimming with enthusiasm about expanding your family. Unfortunately, adoption is one of those things that takes some time. The good news is, I’ve got some tips to help you speed up the process!
Here are the 3 things you need to know to speed up adoption:
- The Power of 3 can be a very powerful tool. It can really benefit you to work with more than one adoption professional. These professionals can work on your behalf to help you find a match. In 2022 there aren’t a lot of adoptions going on and the more people working for you like an adoption agency, photo lister, or even networking professionals can increase your chances of being matched with an expecting mother.
- Be sure your preferences are as broad as possible while still being comfortable. Being open to different age, race, or gender can help speed up a match. You might also consider being open to the mental health backgrounds of the mother, especially anxiety and depression. It is not uncommon to find an expecting mother dealing with these mental health issues.Drug and alcohol abuse are also common factors with expecting mothers. Taking the time to understand and educate yourself on possible side effects may open up opportunities to be matched. The more open and broad you are will increase your odds.
- Have an adoption profile that is fantastic! The adoption profile is the first impression for the birth family to decide whether they think you’d be a good fit. Don’t try to cut costs here and be personable. An outstanding profile makes you more approachable.
If your enthusiasm is overflowing and you are having a hard time mustering up the patience to be matched with your future child you are not unordinary. It is important to trust the adoption process to help safely place you with a child that will be a good addition to your family. But, increasing your odds with the above tips can go a long way in speeding up the process.
