Rosenberg, Elinor. The Adoption Life Cycle: The Children and Their Families through the Years, Free Press, New York, NY, 1992. Looks not only at the issues of adoptees but also at those of birth parents and adoptive parents.

***Silber, Kathleen and Phyllis Speedlin. Dear Birthmother: Thank You For Our Baby, Corona Publishing Co., San Antonio, Texas, 1998. Using actual correspondence between birth parents and adoptive parents, this book debunks the myth that birth parents do not care about their children and do not think about them later. It also helps adoptive parents and adopted persons better understand birth parents.

Zimmerman, Martha. Should I Keep My Baby?, Bethany House Publishers, Minneapolis, MN, 1983. A simple, thoughtful and understanding book giving immediate help and direction for facing a pregnancy outside of marriage.
