Concern #1: Birth parents who care for their child would not think of adoption.
Reality: Adoption can be the most loving and unselfish plan birth parents can demand for their child.
Concern #2: Birth parents will know nothing about their child's life, and his/her adoptive parents.
Reality: A birth parent may choose the level of openness they desire in their adoption plan, including choosing the family, meeting in person, and maintaining contact throughout the child's life.
Concern #3: Adoption is an irresponsible solution to an unplanned pregnancy.
Reality: The most responsible solution to an unplanned pregnancy is one that puts the child's best interests first.
Concern #4: Birth parents forget the children they place for adoption.
Reality: Birth parents always remember and love the children they place.
Concern #5: A birth parent will have serious emotional problems if he/she places their chlid.
Reality: Birth parents who place their child go through a natural grieving process which ends and leaves them with a sense of peace and strength.
Concern #6: No one can love a child as much as a birth parent.
Reality: The ability to be a good parent and to love a child has no relationship to one's ability to give birth.
