Kevin & Teresa |
Hello,
We are Kevin, Teresa and Grady and we appreciate you taking the time to learn a little about us thorugh this letter.
We understand that you are experiencing many things at this time and hope that we can hlp you arrive at a suitable
decision for everyone involved.
We met in 1996 through a volunteering organization. After our first official date, we spent most of our free time
together. We were surprised to find that the qualitites we appreciated in each other weren't on "The Requirements List".
We were married a year later and never looked back. Our relationship is strong and we are still surprised by some of
the valuable qualities that surface during our marriage. Our son, Grady, was born in 2002 and our lives are richer
with the love and sunshine that he has brought to our home. We can't wait to welcome a second child into our family.
We know that Grady will be a terrific big brother.
About Kevin
Kevin is very personable, bright, thoughtful, fun loving and easy-going. He is a software engineer with a company
that is flexible about family scheduling. He has many interests: researching family history, visiting family and friends,
flying, attending football games, camping, golfing, hanging out with Teresa and Grady and enjoying life. I am always
amazed at his commitment to family. If there is a family event, we make every effort to attend. It has been a phenomenal
transition to watch him become ever more patient and gentle with our son. They are great pals.
About Teresa
Teresa is fun loving, hard working and a quick thinker with a silly-type sense of humor. She was an accountant and
office manager before our son was born. Since then, she has stayed home to take care of Grady and manage our home.
Some of her interests are reading (mystery novels), cross stitching, cooking, traveling, trying new crafts, volunteering,
hanging out with Kevn and Grady. She has devoted herself to raising our son and expanding his world by playing at parks,
checking out the library and children exhibits, cooking meals for the family and just exploirng the backyard.
Home/Neighborhood
We live in an average suburb of the Greater Kansas City area. Our home is close to schools, services, shopping, parks
and churches. Our neighbhorhood has a nice variety of families - young children, teenagers and some coples with no
children. During good weather, we like to hang out in the front yard or take walks to visit with the neighbors.
Sometimes we relax in the hammock out back and read, chat, tell stores or watch the clouds overhead. We also like
to work on home improvement projects as time and finances permit. Home is our refuges from the many demands of the
modern world.
Our Families
Kevin is the youngest of eight children, so we are very fortunate to have eighteen nieces and nephews that play
with
and entertain our son. Some of those nieces and nephews are starting to have children themselves, which means
our children will have many playmates at family gatherings. Two of Kevin's siblings live in the Greater Kansas City
area. We usually get together with them several times during the year - especially if other family members are in
town. Teresa is the oldest of three children, and her parents live within the Greater Kansas City area. Gady is
their only grandchild and we see them more often. Grandma likes to swim with Grady at her neighborhood pool and
Grandpa likes to go fishing. We know that our extended families will welcome a new child just as eagerly as
they did Grady.
Family Values
We feel it is important to treat people respectfully, obtain a well-rounded education, and be productive citizens
of the community. We hope to pass these values to our children through their life experiences - school, church,
various activities, family functions, friendships and every day living. Our children will be encouraged to follow
their dreams. We will give them every opportunity that we can provide, but we believe in allowing children to
choose their own path in life.
We promise to provide your child a stable, nuturing and loving environment and will share their adoption story
with them often. We'd love to talk with you about your dreams for your child and will respect the level of
openness and contact with which you are comforatbale. We wish you strength and wisdom as you make your decisions.
